Pastell Contemporro is a Hungarian jazz quartet founded in 2008 by pianist János Weisz and saxophonist Attila Borkó, with fellow musicians Márton Eged (bass guitar) and Sly Juhász (drums). Each of them plays with several excellent performers in other formations, such as István Elek, Márton Fenyvesi, the Transform Quintet and Bálint Gyémánt. They regularly perform in the biggest domestic clubs: (A38, Budapest Jazz Club, Opus Jazz Club), and also participated in the Budapest Music Expo.
The band's sound world is contemporary jazz based on Bartók's traditions, which draws from the American jazz avant-garde of the 60s, using elements of folk music, bop, and swing. In addition to these, his most characteristic features are the grotesque-ironic tone and audience-friendly humor.
Attila Borkó – saxophone, Márton Eged – bass guitar, János Weisz – piano, Sly Juhász – drums
