World Stars at Budapest Jazz Club: Jeff Berlin Trio Feat. Dennis Chambers

Bassist Jeff Berlin, born in 1953, originally learned to play the violin, then, like many of his contemporaries from New York, he moved to Boston to continue his studies on the bass guitar at the Berklee College of Music, already under the influence of the Beatles. Already in the early years he played with David Liebman and Patti Austin, but the world really noticed him when he collaborated on Bill Bruford's debut album, Feels Good to Me, in 1977. Later, Berlin also played on Allan Holdsworth's 1983 Warner Brothers album Road Games, which can also be heard on the record.

 

For more than forty years, Jeff Berlin's innovative playing can now be heard on countless records and live recordings, working with artists such as Billy Cobham, Scott Henderson, Frank Zappa, Pat Martino and John McLaughlin, to name just a few of the biggest names.
