JazzFest Budapest: Free Style Chamber Orchestra
The Free Style Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2004 and was a major breakthrough for Hungarian jazz life, as Hungary's first permanent, professional chamber orchestra was formed, consisting of strings, woodwinds (classical chamber music choir), winds and jazz combos. The ensemble is led by János Nagy Yancha Erkel Prize-winning composer, and several of its members are eMeRTon and Artisjus Prize-winning jazz musicians. The Free Style Chamber Orchestra, which has been a key player in the Hungarian jazz scene for 17 years and is a regular participant in major domestic and foreign jazz festivals.
