Ethan Iverson, a keyboardist known for his role in the cult-favorite Bad Plus and a contender for the triumvirate throne with Esbjörn Svensson and Brad Mehldau, spent seventeen years as a foundational member of the band hailed by Downbeat as a “game-changing” formation. The trio, which also jazzed up rock hits, achieved great success with concerts at the Village Vanguard and Carnegie Hall, collaborating with artists of the caliber of Bill Frisell and Joshua Redman.
In 2017, Ethan Iverson parted ways with the trio to focus on his personal growth. As a result, his latest album, “Every Note,” was released under the Blue Note label in 2022. Larry Grenadier on bass and the legendary Jack DeJohnette on drums accompany him on this project.
A true New York musician, much like Terence Blanchard, Iverson not only performs live but also produces numerous intellectual works related to jazz. As a jazz scholar, his website “Do The Math” features dozens of interviews, essays, and dissertations covering topics in jazz and classical music alike.
Ethan Iverson – piano, Thomas Morgan – bass, Kush Abadey – drums
