This year the audience meets the band not only in the renewed "Jazz Act" line-up but also enriched with new songs and arrangements by the songstress and György Csicsák. The band has been a creative representative of Spanish-speaking latin jazz in Hungary for many years. Their up-coming album is to be released in 2021.
Having performed in international jazz projects Hungarian singer-songwriter Sugárka launched her debut album, 'Las puertas abiertas' ('The open gates') in 2013, and her second album, 'You're calling me' in 2017. (Sugárka is pronounced 'shu-gahr-ka', a unique ancient Hungarian forename meaning "Little ray of Sunshine".)
While completing her university studies in Drama and Theatre Arts, American Studies and Teacher's faculty, Sugárka won 'Jury Selection Award' on Bartók Radio's International Jazz Vocal Competition - jury headed by the legendary Al Jarreau.
She has been working as an independent performing and recording artist since the beginning of her career. Her lyrics have been released on seventeen albums and were recorded by such masterly jazz singers as Kevin Mahogany.
"A crystalline clear voice full of boundless joy, freshness, and sweet life wrapped in timeless global rhythms. Beautiful." – Kellylee Evans, JUNO AWARD winning jazz singer
Enyedi Sugárka - vocal, Schmidt Misi - piano, Andrés Acevedo - bass, Zsoldos Dániel - percussion
